The Beginning
In 2003, Slimmy® launched as one of the "slimmest leather wallets on earth," and quickly became a top seller on Amazon. It didn't take long for the media to notice, with mentions in the New York Times, Complex, and HuffPost Canada.
We've never chased attention. Slimmy isn't for everyone. It's a reminder of what you actually need, and permission to discard the rest. A premium wallet that keeps you honest.
The Slimmy Evolution
We are not out to impress the world with every possible version of a wallet. We abhor the endless selection most people don't need. Slimmy offers one kind of wallet — slim, made for the front pocket.
It started with the OG 3-Pocket in 2003. The following year we added a window for fast ID access (OG V). In 2006, AUX launched as a nylon, tethered option for when you need an extra pocket without abandoning the discipline. Then came a run of dedicated single-pocket designs built to eliminate every layer of unneeded bulk: SlimSlimmy in 2007, wwSlimmy — our worldwide, internationally sized wallet — in 2008, and X Slimmy in 2014.

A Simple Black Wallet
We've made Slimmy in different colors and premium leathers over the years. All black remains the best seller — and that makes sense. Black goes with everything. It says brutalist minimal without saying a word. Time-tested, embedded in the collective subconscious the same way a little black dress is. A mainstay that does more with less.
Crafted in Leather, Not Just Covered By It
Every Slimmy leather wallet starts with full-grain, heavy native USA steer hide, handcrafted by a 4th generation, family-owned leather manufacturer with roots back to 1917. We don't cut corners on material. If a leather isn't good enough to earn its place in a Slimmy, we don't use it.
Currently Available
Black (Smooth Dressed)
USA heavy native steer hide, tanned in the Dominican Republic using aniline dyes and conditioned with natural oils and wax for resistance to daily wear. Holds its finish, staying cleaner and newer-looking longer than our other leathers.
Oil Tan
The most exacting process we use. Sourced from Texas steers, each hide is soaked thoroughly in vegetable tanning agents and aniline dye until color penetrates completely through, not just the surface. Only the best hides can withstand this process. What's left is leather where the natural grain shows through — rich, pliable, and the finest we put into a slim wallet.
From the Archive
Over the years we've worked with leathers beyond what's currently offered — including Antique Leather, which softens and darkens with daily use into something that becomes uniquely yours, and Horween Shell Cordovan, one of the most respected leathers in the world. These aren't gone forever. As we continue building the Slimmy line, we may bring select leathers from our archive back into rotation.

Not every Slimmy is leather. AUX is built from nylon — expandable, tethered, made for when you need an extra pocket without compromising the same discipline: carry only what you need.
BA7ANCE™: The Principle Behind Every Slimmy
This is our design philosophy, and it's intentional. No Slimmy product has more than seven pockets or slots. Why seven? The human brain cannot reliably hold more than seven items in sequence — it's why phone numbers, minus the area code, are seven digits. We didn't invent this. It's established cognitive research. We just couldn't understand why wallet design ignored it.
